Le village d’Andermatt est situé à 33 kilomètres au sud d’Altdorf, sur la route du col du Saint-Gothard. Il se trouve dans la vallée d’Urseren. La rivière Reuss y coule.
Andermatt est un carrefour routier à l’intersection des routes menant vers les cols de l’Oberalp et de la Furka.
