DESCRIPTION:

Zermatt se situe au fond de la vallée du Mattertal, au pied du Cervin à une altitude de 1620 m, dans la partie alémanique du canton du Valais. C'est une des stations de ski les plus importantes des Alpes avec un domaine skiable culminant à 3900 m, ainsi qu'un important centre d'alpinisme et d'escalade.

La région de Zermatt abrite un grand nombre de glaciers dans les vallons et sur les hauts sommets des alentours tels que le Glacier du Gorner ou le Glacier de Zmutt
