Mürren (1650 m) - a marvellous mountain village, public car free, rich in tradition and originally the home of settlers from the Lötschen Valley in the Valais.
Perched on a high, sunny terrace facing the famous Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau, the village is the highest altitude ski resort in the Bernese Oberland. It nestles at the foot of the Schilthorn with its revolving Piz Gloria Restaurant, made world-famous by a James Bond film.
In summer, Mürren is the perfect place from which to start a host of hikes, from simple to strenuous.
You can reach Mürren from Lauterbrunnen by mountain railway (BLM) or from Stechelberg by aerial cableway (LSMS). Mürren has 350 inhabitants and a total of 2000 beds in 14 hotels and 250 holiday apartments.
